Leaving

Do you ever get the feeling that you just want to go away? I mean, you don't necessarily need a reason, but that urgent feeling where you just want to pack your knapsack and leave and never come back. That's been happening to me a lot lately. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going anywhere, but to have the freedom of just getting up and going would be nice. Nobody to stop you from leaving your cell phone and iPod and housekey and running away to some shady corner of the woods where no one can find you.

I had a dream about that a couple nights ago, actually. I don't remember exactly how it went, but I'll try to recall it as best I can.

I was sitting in my bedroom, and my window was open. I saw a ladder going down from it, but I couldn't see where it went. I went down, and I was in a really big clearing in the woods. I remember just lying down and feeling content as can be. I woke up right after that, but afterwards I couldn't shake the feeling that I just wanted to climb some ladder into someplace nobody knew but me.

Weird.

Crosswords and Dickens and Pacman, oh my!

So here I am. In my school's library(which is actually kind of crappy.) Im blogging, doing a crossword, watching my boyfriend and a buddy of his play Pacman, and waiting for my mom to send me my English homework. I don't have a functioning printer at home, so whatever projects I need to type up for homework I just write at home, e-mail to myself, and then print the following morning before class. However, for some reason it didn't work this morning so my MOTHER had to try sending it to me, which didn't work again. I asked her to copy and paste it into an e-mail and try that, but in the meantime here I am.

Alone.

"What a beautiful face I have found in this place that is circling all 'round the sun..."

Title quotation provided by Neutral Milk Hotel, 'In The Aeroplane Over the Sea.' I am such a hipster.

Speaking of hipsters, a fellow blogger who holds a special place in my heart recently posted an entry about hipsters and how he never really understood and/or accepted their(our?) culture. I consider myself a pseudo-hipster, but still. What's wrong with going "against the grain?" Being an individual is a personal choice, like being a gentleman or disliking prunes. Maybe I'm just arguing for the sake of argument(aka, I couldn't think of anything else to blog about), but what's there to not understand? Hipsters tend to be pretentious, like weird music nobody's ever heard of, wear Convers/Dr. Martens, and tend to shop at Oxfam and Salvation army. I categorize myself under most of those. Also, if you want to voice your opinion on how you don't like football or how Abercrombie and Fitch is annoying(which they ARE), it's a free country! People can speak their minds here, right?

P.S. It is a myth that most hipsters are unemployed and live off of their parent's trust funds.

P.P.S. If you don't really know what a hipster is, I encourage you to follow this link. It's generally accurate, even though it is Urban Dictionary.

OOH LOOKEE HERE ANOTHER POST!

Today, I got thinking about what I'm going to do with my life. I mean, I'm pretty sure I want to go into theater, then take over Womp's position at my school after I go to college, but what if that changes? I mean, I've had a lot of preconcieved ideas about what I want to do with my life. I'm pretty sure at one point I wanted to be a janitor, like Junie B. Jones. Don't judge me.

Also, I went to a pretty "Wicked" masterclass yesterday(HAH LOOK AT THAT I MADE A JOKE) with Tom Flynn who played Dr. Dillamond, and he said that it's incredibly difficult to "make it big" in theater. And, that about 1% of the actors in New York make a decent income. I know I'm passionate about theater and I want to get better at it and spend my live involved with it, but is it worth the effort? Sometimes I think it would be nice to turn back time to when I was five when I wanted to be a pediatrician, a fireman, and a gardener all at once.

P.S. To my readers, who are few and far between, what is the weirdest career choice you've ever considered? 6 year-old "dream jobs" count/preferred. :D

Good afternoon, world and all who inhabit it!

So... yeah.

Sorry for not posting more. I have been very busy lately/haven't thought of any topics, so I guess I'm just going to make it something like a public diary. Except less explicit. ;D OHO!

Well, the other day I had a couple buddies over. And my boyfriend. Which was nice. :) Mary, Gabe, and Cory. We watched a couple movies in my basement with pretzels, peanut M&M's, and SKITTLES(my favorites.) Cory seems to be a pretty big admirer of Patrick Swayze and his manliness that drips from every pore, so imagine his surprise when I suggest we watch 'To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar,' a movie about three drag queens who get stuck in the Midwest on their way to Los Angeles. Starring: Wesley Snipes, John Leguizamo, Stockard Channing, and... wait for it... Patrick Swayze. In drag. Priceless...

Anyhow, Cory seemed to enjoy it. It's a pretty funny movie. After that, he had to leave(volleyball practice. Pshaw.) but mary, Gabe and I watched Phantom of the Opera and sang along VERY loudly. It was a good time.

Anyhow, I'd best be getting back to my homework.

P.S. I'M GETTING A PHONE UPGRADE!

An Epic Tale of Betrayal and Mistrust

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful and tragically misunderstood girl named Louisa. She had this homely and overbearing acquaintance named Lilyanna who beat her shamelessly with cruel words and a horsewhip. One day, this cruelty became too much for Louisa to bear. What did she do about it? She blogged about it. And after that, she creeped into Lilyanna's house, stole all of her delicious apples, and shanked her in her sleep. Victory was hers. The entire town pranced and danced in the streets for joy.

Alas, there was one person in all of Brightonia who did not rejoice. And that was her lover, Henrietto. Henrietto was enraged, and decided to take his revenge by taking away the only thing that mattered to Louisa and destroying it: her blog.

*insert loud, Doomsday music here*

If music be the food of love... it's gotta be by Dream Theater.

'Ello, poppet...

MUAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry for that.

I have NO IDEA where that came from.

Now, I *could* be watching Pirates of the Carribean right now and pretending to be Barbossa.

But that would be dorky.

REALLY dorky.

...

Anyway... sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I've been pretty busy lately/ I sadly could not think of anything to write about. Pretty pathetic, right?

Hmm...

So how are you?

Yeah?

I'm pretty good myself. My boy is nice. He's tall and gingery and likes Julia Nunes. Who I really like. She plays the ukelele.

You know who else I listen to a lot? Dream Theater. They're this AWESOME prog metal band that I may/may not be in love with. I think he may have been classically trained. Which is pretty cool.

Singing out.
